The AG brand represents both Alston Gayler & Co Ltd (“AGC”) and AG Broking Services Limited (“AGB”), which are leading London Market brokers specialising in multiple lines of business. Both firms share the same office and operational framework, with AGC conducting all reinsurance business and AGB handling general insurance activities.

We help clients by offering clear solutions to often complex business risk challenges. Our goal is always to deliver the best possible outcome by investing the time to understand our clients and their unique commercial profile. Our personal approach to service delivers exceptional results for our clients.

How we do it

Every AG broker is a specialist. We combine our individual and collective expertise with AG’s extensive insurance-market knowledge and connections; first to develop a deep understanding of each client, then to provide the best possible solutions to their risk challenges. We back up our traditional, relationship-based approach with cutting-edge analytics to create a comprehensive picture of the risks each client faces, then build that knowledge into a carefully crafted risk resolution.

It’s an approach that fosters the long-term relationships we’re proud of at AG. We encourage clients to visit us because that’s when we really get to know each other.   And wherever they are in the world,  we’re always on call and ready to help at any time they might need us. We do this for a huge range of businesses, including some of the biggest global insurers, hedge funds, energy traders, shipping companies, and many smaller, independent companies too. Our clients’ loyalty is a powerful testament to our successful way of working.

Who we are

We are leaders in our individual fields of expertise. Collectively, we began in marine insurance more than two decades ago as Alston Gayler. We remain a leading marine broker but we have expanded our offering over the years and can now offer a diverse range of services, from traditional and specialised reinsurance to property, political risk, aerospace and terrorism cover. We’ve expanded our client proposition by hiring the best individuals in their specialist areas while maintaining our intensively client-focussed approach. As always, we decline to do business for clients in sectors we don’t understand thoroughly.

We are now a team of more than 60 people, all sharing the AG ethos of first-class client service. Being based under one roof in the City of London, all our people, coming from a variety of disciplines, are readily on hand to share their knowledge, expertise and experience for the benefit of all our clients.

As AG has grown, so too has our diversity of talent.   We will seek to continue to grow in a carefully managed way, but will only add to our team when we find the right people (and if that’s you, click here).
